Students at Foster Secondary College are always encouraged to establish good habits to put them in good stead to live a healthy and enjoyable life. Being fit and active is a crucial step towards achieving that vision. To that end, students are provided with ample opportunity to be involved in various sporting pursuits both within the School and representing it at inter-school competition.

In first term students take great joy in participating in our House Athletics and Swimming Carnivals, where events vary from traditional races to out-of-the ordinary novelty events, to provide something in which all children can be involved.  The message students are delivered is that participation is key, and it takes a whole team effort to reap reward.

Second term sees our House Cross-Country event take place, where students who wish to participate run a challenging 3 or 5 kilometre course in an effort to win points for their house.  The students who achieve the best results at these events are then given the opportunity to go on and compete at next level inter-school, regional and state finals if they are good enough!

Beyond these events, teams are also entered into other inter-school competitions such as basketball, cricket, netball and football, often experiencing much success. The sports staff at FSC take great pride in encouraging and developing students’ potential, and look forward to the opportunity to work with all students that come through the school gate.
